Absolute Johannes factotum
- SCP-1149 (?)
- SCP-1149 is a rusty weather vane, about 45 cm long, that looks like a rooster and has no clear maker's mark. Despite its simple appearance, it causes strange and extreme weather events within a cone-shaped area stretching approximately 215 km from its tip. These events, which can include abnormally small storms, sudden pockets of fog or extreme heat, or even waterspouts, happen more often and become more intense when wind blows across the vane in the direction it's pointing. To keep its effects minimized and pointed away from populated areas, SCP-1149 is kept in a secure room at a remote site, constantly facing the Pacific Ocean, with strict controls on air movement around it.
- 300-page iPhone bill (?)
- The "300-page iPhone bill" refers to a viral incident in August 2007 when YouTube personality iJustine received an exceptionally long, detailed paper bill for her first iPhone, mailed in a box. This phenomenon occurred because AT&T's default billing for early iPhone users itemized every data transfer, including background activity like emails and text messages, leading to bills hundreds of pages long. Her video, highlighting the excessive paper waste, quickly gained widespread media attention, prompting AT&T to change its billing practices to remove itemized details from paper bills for iPhone users. The event drew criticism regarding environmental impact and inefficient billing, and was even listed as one of "Technology's 10 Most Mortifying Moments" by Computerworld magazine.
