Description

Removed use of deprecated SetImmutableLabels() and replaced it with functions to keep externally added labels on sub resources to prevent reconcile conflicts.

also includes:

• go version updated to 1.26 (because smooth-operator uses 1.26)
• cleanup env.local to remove private repo references and add comments
