1 Pronunciation of most/many english Voices for 'maketh'; and 2 poor audio quality in “Microsoft William Online (Multilingual) – en‑AU” #973

Description

Voice:

  1. Most English type Voices, 'en'. (except William)
  2. Microsoft William Online (Multilingual) – English (Australia) (en‑AU).

Platform:
Windows 10 (system voice list)
Used via Web Speech API in a browser‑based text‑to‑speech reader.

Problem Summary:
While reading Isaiah 44:

  1. most system voices pronounce the word “maketh” with an 'au' sound which misleads listeners to hear like-“mocketh,” which may change the meaning of the passage for naive listeners.
  2. William is the only voice that produces the preferred vowel sound (“A” as in “make”). However, William’s audio quality is noticeably reduced by his “s” sounds (harsh and distracting). William's audio artifacts reduce usability for long‑form reading.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open Isaiah 44 (esp. King James Version).
  2. use system voices to read the chapter.
  3. Noice how each Voice pronounces 'maketh'.
  4. Notice that most voices make an 'au' sound where an 'A' would be preferred.
  5. Notice how William Multilingual's sibilants reduce its appeal.

Requested Improvements:

  1. Update most English-type Voices to improve how archaic English verb forms (like 'maketh') get pronounced.
  2. Improve sibilant handling (“s” sounds) or overall audio clarity for William Multilingual (Voice).
